  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  • Arrange tater tots on top in a single layer.
  • Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until tater tots are golden and crispy.
  • Sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese over the top and bake for 5 more minutes until melted and bubbly.
