Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef (optional for a meaty version)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup crushed crackers or breadcrumbs for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef with diced onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add chopped cabbage to the skillet and sauté for 5–7 minutes until slightly softened.
  • In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup and milk. Pour over cabbage and beef mixture, stirring gently.
  • Transfer mixture to prepared baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top, then add crushed crackers or breadcrumbs.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes, until casserole is bubbly and topping is golden brown.
  • Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
